About signal cables

Signal cables are used for transmitting weak signals, which are susceptible to interference. It is recommended to use high-quality shielded signal cables.

Even with good quality cables, using a mobile phone as a signal source may still cause interference.

About the signal source

Common signal sources include mobile phones and computers. The audio output quality varies by device. Generally, if the audio quality from a computer motherboard is poor, it might not be noticeable at low volumes but becomes obvious after amplification.

If you are unsatisfied with the sound quality from your computer, you can purchase a USB decoder (external USB sound card) to improve the signal source and significantly reduce noise. To identify the noise source, disconnect the input cable, increase the amplifier volume, and listen to the speakers. If there is no noise, the noise originates from the source or the signal cable.

Precautions for use:

1. Do not use cheap, unshielded audio cables, as these can introduce high-frequency noise that increases as the volume knob is turned up. Use quality cables to ensure quiet, hum-free performance.

2. The correct connection sequence is: first connect the power supply to the amplifier, and then connect the power supply to the mains. The incorrect sequence (connecting to mains first) can cause a small low-voltage spark at the plug due to the filter capacitors, which, while not damaging, is not a recommended practice.

3. Use a power supply with high current capacity. If only 2-3A is used, the output performance will be limited.

Tip:

To achieve sufficient output power, both the audio input signal and the power supply (voltage/current) must be sufficient. Higher supply voltage yields higher relative power. Speaker impedance also affects output power; generally, higher impedance results in lower relative power. Please be aware of this!
